My name is Susie Briers l am 74 yrs young. Married with 3 grown up daughters and 4 smashing grandchildren. I have lived in the village along with my husband for 19yrs and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else and that’s why decided to become a Parish Councillor. I worked as a housekeeper for about 20yrs but am now retired for the last 12yrs. I am an active committee member of Women of Wittering community group and my interests are reading and crosswords. I enjoy going to the local cafe with friends for a coffee and catch up.

I’m Brian. I am a Retired Squadron Leader having served in the RAF for 26 years as a Medical Support Officer. I followed that with 11 years in the NHS doing contract and performance management for major NHS Trusts. My lovely wife Viv and I moved to Wittering in 2024. We were looking for a place to settle which was friendly and had a sense of community and opportunity for us to become active in support. To that end, I am now the treasurer of the village Bowls Club and Viv has set up a fortnightly Craft Evening.
I was co-opted onto the Parish Council in early 2025.
Hi I’m Jo. I’ve lived in Wittering for 15 years. I love our village and want to improve on our community spirit which is why I became a Parish Councillor. I like being involved from Women of Wittering Community Group, bringing my students to the Church to plant flowers to setting up a Jubilee Committee for our village Celebrations. Watch this space to see what I get up to next!

Hi my name is Kate Jackson. I’ve lived in Wittering for 30 years. I’m a qualified social worker and have worked within Local Authorities since the 1980s. In my spare time I volunteer at the local pony club and for various animal rescues. I foster for a local hedgehog rescue and transport for different rescues within the local area. I enjoy reading, gardening and weightlifting. I am committed to serving the local community for the benefit of our village. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to live in a village surrounded by such glorious countryside with the depth of wildlife that we have. I am committed to preserving and promoting our village life. I would like to see speed limits within the village reduced further, and traffic calming measures introduced especially down Church Rd where the local primary school is located. I am opposed to large scale development being proposed for Greenfield land within the village boundary. I do not feel this will be of any benefit to our village and in fact will increase problems that we’re already experiencing.
Hello, I’m Liz, I have lived in the village for over 20 years, made it my home, and love the uniqueness of our lovely village. I have been working in the property management sector for nearly 30 years and hope that my work experience would come in very useful. A former member of Stamford St Martins Rotary Club and spent 10 years as a member of Stamford Rotaract Club when I was younger, whose motto is “Service above Self.”
In recent years I’ve helped plant snowdrops and bluebells, I also pop out and litter pick and help to report the potholes in the village, and really would like to do much more and like the opportunity to serve our village, and work with the rest for the Parish Councillors to build on the hard work they have been doing.
In my spare time, I spend time at the gym or shuffling (attempting to run!) I crochet, enjoy music and attending concerts and festivals.
I now work predominately from home and would really be grateful if the villagers would be kind enough to vote for me in May and give me the opportunity to serve our wonderful community.
I am Russ Pye I moved to the village as a serving member of the RAF in 1999 the wife and I brought both our Children up in the village and decided to make it our permanent residence when I retired from the military, and we purchased a house in the village in 2006.
