Wittering Harriers JFC
The football club was formed by a village resident, Jon Warters who’s son wanted to play football. From the humble beginning of a single team, the club now has teams of various ages playing in the Peterborough Junior Alliance and Peterborough Youth leagues.
The club worked closely with Wittering Parish Council and the Thornhaugh Environmental Association putting together a successful bid enabling a new pavilion to be built, the pavilion having full size changing rooms, showers for players along with T bar and toilet facilities for supports and players families. The facility allows the club to maintain its high standing in local leagues and welcome visiting teams with facilities to match the excellent pitches provided and maintained by the Parish Council.
The Club aims to provide structured, enjoyable training for all its members, building their confidence and ability to play competitively in the local leagues. Along with teams playing in leagues, fun soccer for 4 to 6-year-olds also takes place on a Tuesday evening.
This commitment has been recognised by the Football Association by the award to the Club of FA Charter Status, this achieved by having all its coaches at least level 1 FA qualified, a written constitution and rules, all coaches/managers/helpers CRB checked and accounts annually audited.
