In his annual report to the parish, the chairman Richard Roffe confirmed that the parish council met seven times during the year, including the annual parish meeting.
The March meeting was chaired by Richard Roffe with seven councillors present and Hubert Warren, Clerk to the Council, Ward Cllr. John Holdich OBE, Sqn/Ldr. K. L. Merrison RAF representative, Insp. Rob Hill (Cambridgeshire Police) and MOD Pc. Andy Grainge in attendance.
There is a vacancy for a new Parish Councillor due to the retirement of Mrs. Deirdre McCumiskey.
The February meeting chaired by Richard Roffe was held in the community meeting room of the bowls pavilion, with six councillors present and Hubert Warren, Clerk to the Council, Wing/Cdr. Paul McClurg, RAF representative and Pc. Andy Grainge, MOD Unit Beat Officer in attendance.
The present Clerk to the Parish Council will be retiring at the end of the current Council Year (March 31st. 2012) and applications are invited from suitably experienced candidates preferably resident within the Parish of Wittering or immediately adjacent, to fill the vacancy.
